Museum of Bread Culture
The Museum of Bread Culture (founded 1955 as the German Bread Museum) was created on the basis of the collection of artefacts, compiled by the Eiselen father and son, related to the history of breadmaking as well as the cultural and social history of bread. It is the oldest museum of its kind in the world and one of the most important privately run specialized museums. Through its permanent exhibits and numerous special exhibitions, the museum aims to impart the past and present importance of bread for mankind to its visitors. This also includes information on the current status of global food supply. Since 1991 the museum is fully funded by the Eiselen Foundation.
